Manual-only mode
Last updated .
Can I review pull requests only when I ask?
Yes: in manual-only mode nothing is reviewed or charged until someone comments @mergesafe review, presses Review now in the app, or calls the API.
In manual-only mode MergeSafe reviews nothing on its own. Nothing is reviewed or charged until someone asks, in one of three ways:
- comment
@mergesafe reviewon the pull request (see commands); - press Review now on the pull request in the app;
- call the API from your own tooling, for example a CI step (see API keys and API reviews).
A manual review covers the latest commit and everything since the last reviewed commit, at the full price for the repository’s level. If that commit was already reviewed, MergeSafe says so and nothing is charged.
The other trigger modes are on open and every new commit (the default) and on open only, where later commits are reviewed only when you ask. Set the mode during onboarding or per repository in the app. See When reviews run.
