What is MergeSafe?
MergeSafe is an AI code reviewer for GitHub pull requests: it reviews each commit, comments on the lines where the bugs are, and scores how ready the pull request is to merge, charged per review from a prepaid balance.
How much does it cost?
$0.19, $0.45 or $1.49 per reviewed commit, depending on the level, with add-ons of +$0.45 and +$0.75. There are no seats and no minimums, and every new organization gets $10 free. The optional Sentry issue analysis is 20¢ per analyzed issue. See How reviews are charged.
Do I pay per developer?
No. You pay per review, whoever wrote the pull request. Adding people to your team costs nothing.
Which code hosts does it work with?
GitHub, through the MergeSafe GitHub App, on personal accounts and organizations.
Which languages does it review?
Any language. See Supported languages.
Does it replace human review?
No. MergeSafe comments; it never approves a pull request or requests changes on its own. Its mergesafe-review check can be a required check alongside a human approval, which is one of its recommendations.
What does it do with my code?
Most code-derived data expires 30 days after last use, all of it is encrypted with a key per repository, and is deleted when you uninstall. Your code goes only to vetted AI model providers. See Security and data retention.
Where does MergeSafe stand on SOC 2?
We are SOC 2 ready: our controls are built for an audit. We are not certified, and we have not yet started one. The security practices we run are on Security and compliance.
What if a finding is wrong?
Reply and say why. It is judged again and withdrawn, or downgraded so it no longer blocks. See Replying to a finding.
Can I stop it running up a bill?
Yes. Your balance is prepaid, the default limits are $20 a day and $300 a month, and you can review only on request. See Spending limits and Manual-only mode.
How well does it find bugs?
On our own set of 11 real pull requests, Strong found 78% of the labelled defects, and 98% of its findings were real. Method and sample sizes: Benchmarks.
Can I pay by card?
Card payments are coming soon. Until then, reviews run on the free $10.
