How do I start using MergeSafe?
Sign in with GitHub at app.mergesafe.ai, install the MergeSafe GitHub App on the repositories you want reviewed, and your next pull request gets an AI code review; every new organization starts with $10 free.
1. Sign up with GitHub
Go to app.mergesafe.ai and sign in with GitHub. Anyone can sign up. Every new organization gets $10 free to start, so you can review pull requests before paying anything. Card payments are coming soon; for now, reviews run on the free $10.
2. Install the GitHub App
Install the MergeSafe GitHub App on your account or organization and choose which repositories it can see. You can add or remove repositories later from GitHub’s installation settings. Removing a repository, or uninstalling the App, deletes the code-derived data we hold for it (see Security and data retention).
3. Onboarding
The app walks you through three choices, which apply to every repository the App can see. You can change each one per repository later.
- Whose pull requests are reviewed. Everyone’s, or only selected authors. A new installation starts with only the person who installed it selected. See Whose pull requests are reviewed.
- When reviews run. When a pull request opens and on every new commit (the default), only when it opens, or manual only.
- The review level. See below.
4. Choose a level
- Budget, $0.19 per review. A focused review of every commit, with the Standard security review.
- Strong, $0.45 per review (the default). A thorough review with every finding verified, plus Standard security.
- Ultra, $1.49 per review. Strong plus both expert add-ons.
- Add-ons on any level: Expert security (+$0.45) and Expert logic (+$0.75). Choosing both costs no more than Ultra.
Not sure? Start with Strong. You can also run a single deeper review through the API without changing a repository’s level. More on review levels.
5. Read the review
MergeSafe posts a summary with a score, and inline comments on the lines that need attention, ranked by severity. Reply to a finding to discuss it, or use the @mergesafe commands. See how a review works, severity and merge readiness.
6. Fix findings from your editor
Use a coding agent in your editor? Connect it to MergeSafe and it can read each finding, fix it in your checkout, reply on the thread and ask for a re-review. See Fix findings from your editor.
