What is AI code review?
AI code review is the use of AI models to read a code change, usually a pull request, and comment on bugs, security problems and risks before a person decides to merge it.
What it typically does
- Reads the diff and the code around it.
- Posts comments on specific lines, ranked by how serious each problem is.
- Summarises the change and how ready it is to merge.
- Runs on every commit, in minutes, at any hour.
Where people still decide
- Whether the change is the right thing to build.
- Whether a finding matters for this product. Good tools let you push back; see replying to a finding.
- The merge itself.
