What is a pull request review?
A pull request review is the check a proposed code change gets before it is merged: reviewers read the diff, comment on specific lines, and approve it or ask for changes.
On GitHub
- A review is a set of line comments plus an overall verdict: comment, approve or request changes.
- Branch protection can require approving reviews and passing checks before a merge.
- Check runs, such as MergeSafe’s
mergesafe-review, report pass or fail on each commit.
Where AI fits
An AI code review adds comments and a check; MergeSafe only comments and never approves or requests changes on its own. A person still approves. See How a review works.
